FAQ

Q: What’s Brass?

A: Brass is an alloy composed of copper and zinc. Brass composed of copper and zinc is called ordinary brass. If it is a variety of alloys composed of more than two elements, it is called special brass. Brass has strong wear resistance, and brass is often used to manufacture valves, water pipes, connecting pipes for internal and external air conditioners and radiators.

Q: What’s the difference of Yellow Brass and Red Copper?

A: 1. Different appearance colors

When we observe the copper and brass, we will find that the color of brass is generally golden yellow, which is more shiny, but the color of copper is rose red, which is also shiny.

2. The composition is different

The composition of red copper is mainly copper, and the content of copper can be as high as 99.9%, but the composition of brass is copper and zinc. The special brass may also have other impurities, so we can also be very good from the composition to differentiate.

3. Different in intensity

The strength of red copper and brass are different, we can distinguish from the strength, brass has more components, so the strength of brass is generally higher, but the composition of copper is mainly copper, basically no other impurities, so the strength of copper is relatively low.

4. Different density

The density of brass is 8.52-8.62, and the density of copper is 8.9-8.95, so the density of copper and brass is relatively large, and the density of brass is relatively small.

Q: Can you CNC brass?

A: Brass has good processing performance, and is often used for cutting into various types of accessories. Among them, the most used brass material in cutting is Pb-containing brass (H59-1 and other brands of brass). Leaded brass has excellent chemical, physical, mechanical and free-cutting properties and is the most widely used copper alloy material. Mainly used in electronics, electrical appliances, locks, joints, plug-in plumbing valve bodies, water meters, flanges, children's toys and other fields.

Q: Can you machine brass?

A: Brass composed of copper and zinc is called ordinary brass. If it is a variety of alloys composed of more than two elements, it is called special brass. Brass has strong wear resistance. Brass is often used to manufacture valves, water pipes, connecting pipes for internal and external air conditioners and radiators, etc., and brass usually needs to be cut when it is used, so that it can be processed into various shapes for convenience. Most of the existing brass cutting tools are integrated. When replacing the tools and performing different forms of cutting, the replacement of the tools is too troublesome, which affects the efficiency of brass machining.
