excellent electrical properties, wide sources of raw materials, simple
processing and molding, high production efficiency, etc., and have material

have become important materials that cannot be replaced in the national economy,
national defense construction, and scientific and technological development.
The most commonly used resins in thermosetting resin-based composites are still
phenolic resins, unsaturated polyphenol resins and epoxy resins, the three
major thermosetting resins.
There are many types of epoxy resin rod
composite materials (epoxy composite materials, also called epoxy reinforced
plastics), and their names, meanings and classification methods are not
completely unified, but in general they can be classified according to the
following methods.
(1) According to the purpose, it can be
divided into epoxy structural composite material, epoxy functional composite
material and epoxy functional structural composite material. The structural
composite material is a composite of the mechanical properties of the
constituent materials, so that it can be used as a stressed structural
material, and the material can be designed and manufactured according to the
stressed condition to achieve a good state of material performance. Functional
composite materials are composite materials with other properties (such as
light, electricity, heat, corrosion resistance, etc.) to obtain materials with
a certain ideal function. For example, epoxy resin copper clad laminate, epoxy
resin electronic plastic packaging material, radome, etc. What needs to be
pointed out is that no matter what kind of functionality of the material is
used, it must have the necessary mechanical properties, otherwise no matter how
good a functional material is, it will not be practical. There are already some
functional materials that require high strength at the same time, such as
high-voltage insulator core rods, which require high insulation and strength,
and are a kind of insulating structural composite material.
(2) According to the molding pressure, it
can be divided into high-pressure molding materials (molding pressure 5-30MPa),
such as epoxy engineering plastics and epoxy laminate plastics; low-pressure
molding materials (molding pressure <2.5MPa), such as epoxy glass fiber reinforced plastics and high-pressure molding materials. Performance epoxy composite material. FRP and high-performance composite materials are not suitable for high-pressure forming due to the large size of the parts (up to several square meters) and the surface is usually not flat. Otherwise, the mold cost is too high, the press tonnage is too large, and the cost is too expensive.
(3) According to the characteristics of
epoxy composite material's performance, molding method, product and application
field, and taking into account the habitual name, it can be divided into: epoxy
resin engineering plastic, epoxy resin laminated plastic, epoxy resin Glass
fiber reinforced plastic (general epoxy resin composite material) and epoxy
resin structural composite material.
